Description:The Human Resources Manager is responsible for human resources administration at the community level to include: recruitment, placement, training and development, performance management, salary administration, compensation and benefits, employee relations, complaint investigation and resolution, HRIS, worker’s compensation, unemployment compensation, and all state and federal regulations. The Human Resources Manager, working in conjunction with the Corporate Human Resources Director, will ensure all HR policies and procedures are communicated, administered consistently applied throughout the community. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all payroll duties to include: timekeeping documentation and payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness as well as compliance with amended laws, IRS regulations, and the FLSA.
Duties:
  • Oversee recruitment, including placement of internal and external job postings; conducts and oversee the interviewing, hiring process, conducts orientation of all staff; help prepare and administer regular evaluations; help conduct disciplinary and termination conferences; consults with the Corporate HR Dir and Executive Director as required.
  • Assist the Corporate HR Director in analyzing market trends; conduct benchmarks of employee compensation and benefits programs.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of personnel files, professional credentialing, continuing education, orientation, in-service training, the human resource budget, and the HRIS; keep accurate, updated employee records in accordance with State Board of Health regulations.
  • Oversee the administration of and resolution of internal and external complaints relating to employee relations; consults with Corporate HR Director and Executive Director as required.
  • Commence and terminate employee benefits by timely notification to PEO Provider.
  • Maintain high standards of Human Resource related activities; understand Human Resources role as a service provider to the organization.
  • Conduct and oversee the reference checks for prospective employee.
  • Consistently enforce company policies and procedures. Process timekeeping documentation for consistency and accuracy; enter and import payroll information into the payroll-processing system and generate payroll checks when appropriate; coordinate payroll banking information.
  • Distribute paychecks to appropriate individuals.
  • Complete employment verification requests.

    The facility operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree is essential; at least three (3) years’ human resources experience, previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR designation is a plus.
  • Previous experience with timekeeping system is preferred.
  • Average knowledge of general human resources practices and procedures.
  • Excellent skills in identifying and resolving problematic employment situations that have the potential of impacting the legal liability of the organization.
  • Excellent ability to interact and communicate with a variety of people, both on a one-on-one basis and in meetings and group presentations; must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile people; must be able to communicate in a manner understandable by older adults.
  • Customer service driven; responsive to employee issues and concerns.
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail systems, Internet browsers, computerized timekeeping system, and HRIS.
  • Average knowledge of FLSA laws, payroll procedures, and practice policies.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of healthcare administration and regulatory compliance issues or ability to learn.
