| Description: | The Stratford at Kenwood is currently seeking a driver to provide residents with safe and efficient transportation in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations, as well as established facility policies and procedures. Secondary functions of the position are to perform assigned maintenance/housekeeping duties as needed. |
| Duties: | Schedule/coordinate resident appointments/transportation according to established procedures and bill and collect money from residents for services; maintain accurate appointment books and complete and submit pre- and post-trip forms/reports as needed. Route trips and follow directions efficiently and effectively; drive carefully, observing safety rules as well as traffic laws; report all incidents and accidents immediately to the department manager. Provide transportation for community errands and for outings scheduled by Activities staff and assist with residents as needed. Communicate equipment/supply needs and vehicle problems/malfunctions to the supervisor or Executive Director. Arrange for periodic washing of vehicles as needed. Assist the maintenance/housekeeping staff when schedule allows. Perform clerical duties as assigned.
The facility operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work. |
| Qualifications: | High school diploma or GED preferred. Must possess a commercial drivers� license and have clean driving record. Above average ability to interact and communicate with a variety of people, both on a one-on-one basis and in meetings and group presentations; must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile people; must be able to communicate in a manner understandable by older adults. Ability to think logically in order to troubleshoot, analyze situations, and make sound business decisions. Ability to make independent decisions. Ability to read (i.e. maps, directions). Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations. Ability to drive safely at night and in adverse weather conditions. |
