We are currently seeking a Custodian to provide housekeeping, floorcare and light maintenance services for our new community.

| Duties: | The Custodian maintains assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, orderly, attractive manner in accordance with established procedures, and as directed by the supervisor. The Custodian will maintain proper floor care procedures throughout the building. The Custodian ensures that the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times.
Clean all common areas, including guest restrooms according to schedule. This includes, but is not limited to:
Vacuuming all carpeted areas.
Dusting all furniture, common area items, handrails, and hanging pictures.
Cleaning glass surfaces.
Cleaning doors, doorways, and walls of fingerprints or other dirt.
Vacuuming upholstery furniture according to schedule.
Cleaning and disinfecting common areas and resident bathrooms.
Mopping common areas and bathrooms floors.
Strip, wax, machine scrub and dry tile floors, as necessary.
Assure storage room is clean and equipment and supplies are properly stored at all times.
Move furniture to ensure thorough cleaning of carpet.
Change out light bulbs, change air filters and other “light maintenance” assignments as required.
The facility operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work. Provide floor care in all vacant apartments, including cleaning and extracting carpet and tile floors, prior to move-in by residents. Clean light covers in the hallways and elevators of all areas of campus. The facility operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

| Qualifications: | High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Six (6) months to one (1) year of housekeeping experience is preferred.
Ability to operate housekeeping equipment.
Ability to interact and communicate with a variety of people, both on a one-on-one basis and in meetings and group presentations; must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile people; must be able to communicate in a manner understandable by older adults.
Ability to think logically in order to troubleshoot, analyze situations, and make sound business decisions.
Ability to make independent decisions.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to read labels and follow directions.
