Description:The Community Outreach Coordinator works the Executive Director and Sales and Marketing Department as both a developer of outside sales and a coordinator of account-based referrals; conducts assessments of prospective clients and makes recommendations on appropriate level of care; assists in event planning for our community - resident and prospect marketing events.
Duties:
  • Assist the Marketing Department in development and implementation of an effective marketing plan.
  • Establishes referral sources working with hospitals, physicians’ groups, lawyers, financial advisors and others as appropriate; schedules regular visits to foster relationships.
  • Assess prospective clients for assisted living; and provides information and makes recommendations for appropriate level of care.
  • Assist in hosting events at the community for qualified prospects and referral sources; seek and build positive relationships with the surrounding community, particularly referral sources.
  • Join community groups and attend meetings to build good will in the surrounding area, educate members about your community, and develop positive relationships.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date records of all communications with referral sources using the appropriate system.
  • Possess and maintain a strong knowledge of the community, its benefits, the services provided, the customers, and employees.
  • Assist the marketing department in maintaining or exceeding budgeted census.
  • Assist with the preparation of regular reports and providing updates to the Executive
  • Director regarding sales achievements, status of interested prospects, and implementation of the marketing plan.
  • Practices positive resident and prospect relations; responds appropriately to concerns and requests and provides timely follow-up; directs feedback and request to supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident, employee and company information.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of Resident’s Rights through exemplary, consistent application of the principles in all aspects of resident care delivery, staff counseling, and ancillary service delivery.
  • Qualifications:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) state license is required (or must have applied for transfer of license from another state).
  • One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in the field of gerontology; experience working in long-term care or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in marketing or sales in long-term care or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in cultivating and managing accounts; with local real estate, civic and healthcare business with established contacts preferable. Should have the following skills:
  • Excellent knowledge of professional medical practice and care.
  • Excellent knowledge of organization policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care.
  • Excellent skill in taking medical history and vital signs, assessing medical conditions, and interpreting findings.
  • Excellent knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to extended-care facility operations.
  • Excellent ability to interact and communicate with a variety of people, both on a one-on-one basis and in meetings and group presentations; must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile people; must be able to communicate in a manner understandable by older adults.
  • Above average organizational and administrative skills.
  • Self motivated for success; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent project management skills with detail orientation; excellent diplomatic and negotiation skills.
  • Must be flexible and willing to adjust to changing environments and schedules.
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail systems, and Internet browsers.
